There is nothing quite like the classics. So I am starting a personal challenge to create a collection of classic, beginner friendly designs. The Duplicibeanie is a double thick beanie which is perfect for winter. Knit in the round, the hat is long enough to be worn as a slouchy beanie or with a folded brim. Ideal for stash busting and playing with color. Most sizes can be made with 1 skein of that special hand dyed yarn.
The Inspiration
You all should know by now that I am all about the value. And I picked up some of this wonderfully soft and sheeny DK yarn for a steal at Michaels a few years ago. This yarn has since been discontinued but is easily swapped out for any other DK yarn. My partner really loves beanies so I try to make him one at least once a year. If you have seen my Simplicibeanie pattern, that is his absolute favorite. But when I asked him if he would like a fully doubled over hat, he was even more excited. And when he's such a good model, he can really have whatever hat comes off my needles. (Unfortunately, while I look drop dead gorgeous in pretty much everything, hats are not it X-D). I hope you enjoy the pattern and make one for every member of the family.
