The Simplicibeanie

Updated: Sep 26, 2023

There is nothing quite like the classics. So I am starting a personal challenge to create a collection of classic, beginner friendly designs. The Simplicibeanie is a double brim beanie knit in the round from the bottom up. This makes the hat super warm around the ears where it counts without being too heavy. And you only need one skein to make any of the sizes.

The Inspiration

You all should know by now that I am all about the value. But that doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the luxury and beauty of a hand-dyed skein of yarn. Last year for Christmas I bought a lovely skein from Fatima of Aquarius Make. As my stash grew out of control I realized that while I enjoy looking at and squishing the skeins that it would be better to work it up into something. Whenever I use hand dyed skeins I like to forgo the complex textured stitches for something simple that will show off the beautiful colors. And so the Simplicibeanie was born.
